EMC Measurements
Since 2019, who has operated its own standard-compliant 3 m fully anechoic chamber including modern EMC and environmental measurement equipment — for maximum flexibility without external labs. The facility is available both for our customer projects and for external booking.

Hardware Development & Prototyping

Starting Situation
WAGO GmbH & Co. KG is an internationally leading provider of electrical connection technology and automation solutions. With around 9,000 employees worldwide and annual revenue of EUR 1.24 billion (2024), WAGO is a true heavyweight in the industry.
The idea for the Sunblind Box originated internally at WAGO: they were looking for a decentralized automation solution for building shading — lean, flexible and above all time-saving in installation and commissioning, since this is precisely where the largest costs arise in building automation.
WAGO quickly realized that it lacked the internal resources to implement these complex requirements. The time factor was also decisive — the goal was a fast market entry.

Collaboration
We took over the development of the normative and technical solution concepts. Over the course of the collaboration, we were repeatedly able to introduce optimizations to the solution. We were also able to respond flexibly to emerging new requirements or requirement changes and bring the project to success.
WAGO particularly valued the fact that everything came from a single source. We developed both the hardware and the software and handled verification as well as prototyping.
Finally, we also carried out the approval and important certifications.

Result
With the Sunblind Box, WAGO successfully captured a market niche. The product was very well received by the market, and the simple NFC commissioning in particular drew consistently positive feedback.
Internally, too, the solution is considered a success: sales companies across Europe have added the Sunblind Box to their portfolios and are actively driving its distribution.
